07 CIVILIANS, 03 MILITANTS, 01 ARMY MAN KILLED, SCORES INJURED IN PULWAMA.

In a blood soaked weekend, 07 Civilians, 03 militants, 01 Armyman  were killed and scores injured in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning.

A Gunfight raged between militants and security forces joint team of army’s 55RR, SOG and 182/183 BN CRPF which launched cordon and search operation in Kharpora, Sirnoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning resulting in killing of 03 militants and one armyman.

Armyman identified as Sepoy Kishan was injured during encounter in Sirnoo Pulwama and has succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

Another armyman Touseef has also received injuries and is being treated at hospital.

Identity of the militants has been established as Zahoor Thoker, an Army deserter, Adnan alias Tahir Hizbi from Karimabad, Bilal alias Hashim from Rajpora all associated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

In a protest which broke out after the encounter 07 civilians got killed in stone pelting incidents on Security forces.  The identity of civilians killed has been established as Abid Hussain Lone a resident of Kareemabad in Pulwama a MBA from Indonesia. Abid is survived by Indonesian wife, three months old baby besides mother, Amir Ahmad Paul of Pulwama, Liyaqat Dar of Parigam, Pulwama, Suhail Ahmad of Ballow, Shahbaaz Ali of Monghama, Pulwama, Murtaza from Prichoo, Pulwama.

The killing of civilians received severe criticism from main stream politicians and separatists alike. Taking on to tweeter, former CM Omar Abdullah posted, “Another blood soaked weekend in Kashmir, 6 protesters killed, 1 soldier killed in the line of duty. Together with 3 militants from this morning’s encounter that’s 10 dead. Reports of many injured at the encounter site. What a horrible day!”

 

Sajad Lone was more critical and straight on tweeter saying, “Extremely disturbing news coming from Pulwama. The administration needs to serioulsy evaluate the cost of its operations. If there is even a remote chance of civilian getting killed during military operations it is better to call off such operations.”

Separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq tweeted saying, “Terror and trauma on Kashmiri’s continues unabatedas killing pursued as state policy!…..”
