Assistive devices distributed under Smagra Shiksha Scheme

UDHAMPUR, JULY 25: The Education Department today organized a two day long assistive devices distribution camp for Childrenwith Special Needs (CWSN), of the age group 6 to 14 years, under Smagra Shiksha Scheme.

State Coordinator, Inclusive Education for Disabled (IED), T.R Magotra distributed 103 devices among children with special needs belonging to different educational Zones including Chenani, Dudu, Ghordi, Jib, Babey and Kalwanta on the first day of the camp.

During the camp, Magotra called upon the organizers to hold such camps frequently for generating awareness among the parents of CWSN regarding the various schemes launched by the Government for such special children. He also highlighted the various aspects of Inclusive Education for Disabled component of scheme.

Joint Director Education said Children with Special Needs have equal right to live and progress in the society and this can be possible only with the support of all sections.

Chief Education Officer gave an overview of schemes and programmes under IED.

Joint Director Education, Udhampur-Reasi, RimpyOhri, Chief Education Officer, J.R Bhardwaj, District Education Planning Officer, J.M Tharmatt, Zonal Education Officer, Pritam Das, District Resource Person, Raj Kumar besides parents of beneficiaries and staff members were present on the occasion.
