DDC Udhampur conducts extensive tour of remote areas

UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 04: In order to observe best practices in Commercial Agriculture adopted in panchayat of Pachote in Tehsil Chenani, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar conducted an extensive tour of panchayat Pachote.

During the whirlwind tour the DDC also interacted with the farmers who set up poly houses in this Panchayats with the help of Agriculture department to generate the source of income. During the tour, DDC also visited at village Sangote, Lower Kud, Mandlote and inspected various poly houses, Shade tents and ponds in the area.

While addressing the farmers, DDC applauded the efforts of the agriculture department for carrying out the benefit of different CSS-Schemes to the needy farmers for their socio-economic upliftment. Adding to it, he emphasized that training of farmers on latest technology is the need of the hour to enhance the income of farming community.

He instructed the concerned departments to organize such types of events and tours in future to aware farmers and improve agriculture practices. He asked the farmers to adopt drip irrigation, Mulching, water harvesting tank, Shade net organic farming and many more alike.

The DDC also directed the BDOs, of the district to organise camps in collaboration with Agriculture Department to replicate and aware farmers about new agricultural techniques.

Later, Department of Agriculture Sub Division Udhampur Zone Chenani organized a Kissan Ghoshti cum Public Grievances Redressal Camp at Kud.

Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, District Information Officer, Sajad Bashir Somberia, District Agriculture Officer, Ajay Sharma, Chief Horticulture Officer, Brij Vallabh Gupta, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. D.D Dogra, Tehsildar Chenani Pardeep Kumar, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Harbans Singh, Subject Matter Specialist, Vikas Padha and other district and sectoral officers of concerned department were present on the occasion.
