Nepal: Flight services from Simikot resume

The flight services from Simikot in Nepal have resumed. More than 100 Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims flown from Simikot to Nepalgunj on Tuesday afternoon.

71 pilgrims evacuated by 7 commercial flights and another 30 by 5 sorties of chartered helicopters. The flight services from Simikot were temporarily suspended since Sunday due to bad weather.

Around 165 pilgrims returning from Kailash Mansarovar Yatra had to wait in Simikot and Hilsa due to bad weather.

According to Embassy of India, the situation is under control and Mission’s representatives in Simikot, Hilsa and Nepalganj constantly monitoring the situation.
