Over one crore 11 lakh 80 thousand farmers from 16 states and two Union Territories have registered on e-NAM platform till 31st of July.
Replying to supplemetaries during Question Hour in Lok Sabha today, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said e-NAM platform promotes better marketing opportunities for the farmers to sell their produce through online competitive and transparent price discovery system and online payment facility. He said a total of 585 mandis of the country have been integrated in the e-NAM platform till 31st March this year.
He added that the Government has approved the integration of another 415 wholesale regulated markets with e-NAM platform by 2019-20 to increase the number of regulated mandis.
