JAMMU, AUGUST 08: In order to achieve the goal of ” Power for All”, Electric M&RE Division-III has initiated a special drive to cover left out households in rural areas under SAUBHAGYA scheme.
In this connection, a camp was held today at Village Pingiari, Tehsil Akhnoor. During the camp about 132 electricity connections were released free of cost as per the guidelines of the scheme along with energy meters to all those households where electrification works were recently concluded.
Executive Engineer, Sanjay Sharma, Assistant Engineer, Sub-Division Akhnoor, Charanjit Singh, Junior Engineers, Kanchan Bharti, Nisha Pandita, and other concerned field staff and representatives from Rodic consultants were present during the camp.
During the camp, Executive Engineer, EMRE-III, Jammu informed that such electrification works in the State are being carried out in the mission mode. He added that the department has succeeded in laying the necessary infrastructure for connecting all the leftover 102 villages across the State which were located in the remote areas and now further electrification works are being carried out to connect all the unconnected households to achieve 100% household electrification in the State by December,2018.
He further said that such camps will now be organized on regular basis to ensure maximum outreach. Besides, the Department has also developed mobile apps like Gram Jyoti Doot and Urja Vistaar for facilitating the consumers to avail the benefits of the scheme on their finger tips and tremendous response from all over the State including Ladakh region is being received by the Department.
