BARAMULLA, AUGUST 10: A function was held at Government High School Dewan-Bagh Baramulla to observe the National De-worming Day wherein Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash was the chief guest.
On the occasion, the DC also administered anti-worming tablets to the children. He was briefed that 405443 children in the age group of one to 19 years enrolled in various schools and Anganwari centres will be given anti-worming tablets free of cost in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner, while highlighting the significance of the programme, stressed for better coordination for the overall success of the campaign. He exhorted upon educating people at grass root levels and said that other vulnerable sections should be included in the programme. Moreover, he urged for working with added synergy and cooperation so that the objective of universal healthcare is achieved in letter and spirit besides reiterating the better health care facilities as his administration’s priority.
He appealed the people to bring their children to nearest health centre besides Anganwadi centres and educational institutions to make the programme a success.
Besides students, officers from the Health and Education Department were also present on the occasion.
