Trailing England by 289 runs, India were 17 for 2 at lunch in their second innings of the Second Test on the 4th day at the Lord’s. Rain forced an early lunch. The post lunch session has been delayed due to wet outfield.
J.M.Anderson removed opener Murali Vijay who failed to score. This was Anderson’s 100th wicket at the Lord’s and 550th in Tests. Anderson also claimed the wicket of K.L.Rahul who scored 10. Cheteshwar Pujara with 5 and Ajinkya Rahane on 1 were at the crease.
Earlier, resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 357 for 6, England declared their innings at 396 for 7. Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya claimed 3 wickets each while Ishant Sharma scalped one. India were all out in their first innings for 107 on Day 2 as the opening day’s game was washed out due to rain.
England lead the 5 Test series 1-nil as they defeated India in the first Test at Birmingham by 31 runs.
