Nobel Prize winner novelist VS Naipaul passes away, President & PM condoled demise of Naipaul

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have condoled the demise of Novelist Sir VS Naipaul. In a tweet, Mr Kovind said, the passing away is a loss for the world of letters and for the broader school of Indo-Anglian literature.

Mr Modi said, VS Naipaul will be remembered for his extensive works, which covered diverse subjects ranging from history, culture, colonialism, politics and more.

Sir Vidiadhar Surajprasad ‘Vidia’ Naipaul, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature, died at his home in London. He was 85. Born in rural Trinidad in 1932, the Novelist was known for works including A Bend in the River and his masterpiece, A House for Mr Biswas.
