DC Kargil reviews Eid-ul-Azha arrangements

KARGIL, AUGUST 13: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting with the officers of district administration to discuss and review the arrangements being put in place for the smooth celebration of upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival.

ACR Kargil Sonam Chosjor, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Director Information, Executive Engineers of the various department including R & B, PHE, PDD, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Deputy Secretary, Cultural Academy, Assistant Director Tourism besides other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including stock of essential commodities, steps to curb black marketing, repairs and renovation of minor roads, link roads, ensuring of an uninterrupted power supply and providing of adequate drinking water facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner asked for constituting of Joint Squads teams to check the markets. He directed the officers to take strict action against black marketers, hoarders and erring shopkeepers as per the law.

He directed the health department to deploy doctors, ambulances, mobile vans and other paramedical staff at big congregation places on the Eid day.

The DC asked the R & B department to take immediate steps for necessary minor repairs and renovation works of roads and link roads leading to big shrines and Eidgahs of the district.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the Assistant Director Information Kargil to establish Grievance Redressal Cell in the District Information Centre, Kargil office complex near Hussaini Park for timely redressal of problems faced the people.

He asked all officers that the necessary arrangements be put in place in advance so that people do not face any difficulties during the celebrations of Eid-ul-Azha.
