Indonesia: Death toll from recent earthquake that struck Lombok island tops 400

In Indonesia, the death toll from the recent earthquake that struck the Lombok island has topped 400. The National Disaster Agency said the number of those killed in the quake is now 436, with more than 1,300 injured and nearly 3 lakh 53,000 displaced.

Search and rescue teams are still searching for survivors. The 6.9-magnitude quake hit the island on the 5th of this month. Besides the huge number of casualties, it levelled tens of thousands of homes, mosques and businesses across Lombok.
