In Afghanistan, at least 30 soldiers and police personnel were killed in a Taliban assault on two adjacent checkpoints in Baghlan province.
The head of the provincial council of Baghlan province, Mohammad Safdar Mohseni, said the insurgents set fire to the checkpoints after the attack late last night in the Baghlan-I Markazi district.
Taliban has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, life is getting back to normal in the eastern city of Ghazni after at least 35 civilians were killed in recent days.
