43 pilgrims leave for Amarnath, 680 for Buddha Amarnath from Jammu

Jammu, Aug 20: The smallest batch of 43 pilgrims on Monday left for Kashmir, while as many as 680 Buddha Amarnath yatris for Poonch from Yatri Niwas base camp here amid chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ to perform pilgrimages.

No yatri left from Pahalgam route, said an official.

He said that 43 pilgrims comprising 42 males and a female left for yatra in a cavalcade of three vehicles.

Meanwhile, 493 males and 187 female pilgrims left in a cavalcade of 16 vehicles for Poonch to pay obeisance at Buddha Amarnath.

The yatra will conclude on August 26 on Sharavan Purnima (Rakshabandhan).

So far, 85,012 pilgrims have left for the Amarnath cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu.
