Govt extends deadline for filing July GSTR-3B till August 24

The government has extended the last date of filing GST summary sales returns or GSTR-3B for the month of July to August 24. The earlier due date was August 20.

Addressing media in New Delhi today, Finance Minister Piyush Goyal said that in order to facilitate filing of easy GST returns, government has extended the due date and they are committed to ensuring that GST is a Good and Simple Tax.

Mr Goyal also said that in view of flood situation in Kerala, Mahe (Puducherry) and Kodagu (Karnataka), the GSTR-3B for the month of July can now be filed by 5th October and the returns for the month of August can now be filed by 10th October.
