Srinagar, Aug 22: Welcoming the Pakistan plan to open route to Gurdwara sahib at Kartarpur in Pakistan, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti hoped that road to Sharda Peth in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) is also opened for Kashmiri pundits.
The new Government of PTI headed by cricketer turned politician Imran Khan has recently said to open the route to Gurdwara Sahib at Kartarpur, Pakistan, for Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary in 2019.
Taking to micro blogging site twitter the president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba tweeted,
‘Pakistan’s plans to open the route to Gurdwara Sahib at Kartarpur in Pakistan for Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary in 2019 is a good step and deserves a positive response from Indian side’.
She further said, ‘Also hope to see Sharda Peth opens soon for our Kashmiri pundits’.
