Jammu, Aug 23: Ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee were immersed in River ‘Suryaputri,’ commonly known as Tawi or Tawishi, here on Wednesday.
After paying tributes to Vajpayee at BJP headquarters, the party leaders carried the ‘Asthi Kalash’ to ‘Surya Putra Tawi’ in the form of ‘Rally,’ where the ‘Ashes’ of the veteran leader were immersed in the Holy waters of Sacred River, with the chanting of Vedic Hymns.
BJP State President Ravinder Raina (MLA) brought the ‘Asthi Kalash’ from BJP office in New Delhi to Jammu and from Jammu Airport, where hundreds of party activists were eagerly waiting to get the sight of the ‘Asthi Kalash,’ proceeded in the form of rally towards the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar of Jammu.
Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh and other leaders expressed their condolence for the great personality.
Mr Raina said he was always loved by all, beyond the party fold and with persons from every ideology.
He said Vajpayee was the one, who pioneered ethics and moral values in politics and added that he was the true patriot to his last breath, who served Mother India with all his dedication and commitment.
Dr Singh said in the history of 70 years of Independent India, no one gained such love, respect and popularity, enjoyed by Vajpayee, during his life and even now.
His legacy can only be understood by the dedicated volunteers of BJP, he said and added that the noble soul will never leave Mother Earth, and will always remain here to guide and correct the party workers.
