Srinagar, Aug 23: Five persons, including two women, were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in the Kashmir valley during the past 24 hours, official sources said here today.
They said a 22-year-old Saima, daughter of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla, was critically wounded when she fell from a moving motorcycle at Warpora, Sopore, on Thursday. The injured was rushed to hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Sources said a car was hit by a cab at main chowk of border town of Tangdhar in Kupwara resulting in on the spot death of Bilal Ahmad, who was driving the car, his minor son. Wife and parents of Bilal besides brother were among the injured in the accident. Simran daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Malik who was injured in the accident also succumbed in the hospital. The driver of Sumo (cab) Zahoor Ahmad is also injured.
A motorcyclist Mohammad Syed Peer was killed and two of his pillion mates were injured when their motorcycle skidded off the road at Drugmulla in Kupwara last night.
