India bagged two Gold, a Silver and three Bronze medals at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia today.
In Tennis, the Men’s Doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan clinched the Gold beating Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik and Denis Yevseyev. The Indian pair defeated their opponents in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
In Women’s Kabaddi Final, India settled for Silver Medal after losing to Iran in the final.
In Shooting, Heena Sidhu won the Bronze in Women’s 10-metre Air Pistol event.
Earlier today, the rowing team comprising Dattu Bhokanal, Sawarn Singh, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh won the first gold medal of the day in men’s quadruple sculls.
India bagged two bronze medals in the sport through Rohit Kumar and Bhagwan Singh in lightweight double sculls. Dushyant started the day with a third-place finish in lightweight single sculls.
India are now placed 7th in the medals tally with 24 medals overall comprising 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 13 Bronze medals.
In Men’s Handball Main Round, India beat their rivals Pakistan 28-27 in the final seconds of the match to register their second victory in a row.
In Men’s 25-metre Rapid Fire Pistol Qualification round, Commonwealth Games Gold medal winner, 15-year old Anish Bhanwala was placed third while Shivam Shukla finished joint-tenth. The final will be played tomorrow.
In Archery, India lost to Mongolia, 4-5 in the pre-quarterfinals of Recurve Mixed team event.
In Men’s Hockey, India will slug it out against Japan in their third Pool-A game. All India Radio will broadcast live commentary on the match from 6:25 PM onwards.
