Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has called on the young doctors to make healing with sympathy, a mission.
He was addressing the Doctors at the 1st Convocation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar today.
Mr Naidu said that the State and Central Government should make a policy to make it mandatory for doctors to serve three years in rural areas before getting the first promotion.
Mr Naidu also paid homage to late Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had approved the proposal for set up six AIIMS in different parts of India.
Governor of Odisha Shri Ganeshi Lal, Union Health Minister Shri J. P. Nadda, Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan also spoke on the occasion.
