In Uttar Pradesh, flood situation continues to be grim in several districts along Ghaghra River.
The state government has cancelled the leave of officials in flood-affected areas and asked the administration to intensify rescue operations.
After conducting an aerial survey of the flood-affected districts of Lakhimpur Kheeri and Gonda yesterday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed the relief material to affected people in Barabanki. He also directed officials to repair the embankments breached by Ghaghra River.
Ghaghra River is wreaking havoc in Faizabad, Gonda, Barabanki, Mau and Sitapur districts and breached embankment at 3 places submerging more than 500 villages in Tarabganj and Carnailganj areas in Gonda district alone.
Mandakini River in Chitrakut is also flowing above danger mark creating panic in Ramghat Area. Incessant rains in many parts of the state have led to water-logging in several areas during the past 24 hours. Met Department has predicted heavy rain in several parts of the state.
