‘Chhari Mubarak’ leaves Pahalgam for Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 28: The ‘Chhari Mubarak’, holy Silver Mace of Lord Shiva, left Pahalgam on Tuesday for its abode at Amreshwar Temple Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar.

The holy Mace reached Pahalgam from Panjtarni, where it had night halt after day-long puja at holy cave shrine on August 26, when the 60-day-long pilgrimage concluded. Over 2.85 lakh pilgrims from different parts of the country paid obeisance at the cave shrine this year.

At Pahalgam, the saints were served ‘kari pakoda’ as ‘prasad’ on the banks of river Lidder as per the old tradition after immersion ceremony and performance of other rituals.

This morning, the ‘Chhari Mubarak’ left for its abode at Amreshwar Temple Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar, marking the culmination of the yatra. The Mace will taken to several temples, including at Mattan, on way to Srinagar.
