BARAMULLA, AUGUST 28: Secretary Social Welfare who is also the State Nodal Officer for District Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Lone today chaired a meeting of officers here at Dak Bungalow Baramulla to review the progress of implementation of various schemes and flagship programmes in key sectors that comes under the purview of Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (EGSA) in centrally sponsored “Aspirational Districts” programme.
Meeting was attended by District Developmental Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, ADC Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba, Director Planning A G Malik, SEs, EXENs and officers from line departments.
On the occasion, the DDC Baramulla briefed the chair about the status of implementation of various schemes and programmes. He presented a detailed account of achievements made under various schemes besides highlighting the quantum of activities that were carried under the programme. He said that district has achieved a top slot by marking almost 100% results in major programmes.
He also informed that under SUBGHAYA scheme of rural electrification, 4204 households were given free electricity connections. He also presented the thorough account of achievements in other sectors including education, agriculture etc.
DDC also said that under Mission Inderdhanush Immunization Programme, 962 children under 2 years of age were immunized while the remaining shall be covered shortly. He also informed that the target was achieved in 279 villages identified under the programme.
Meanwhile, Farooq Lone took a thorough review of implementation of all other components under the Abhiyan wherein he stressed upon the concerned to work with added zeal and dedication for the overall welfare of the people.
Farooq Lone calls for effective coordination between various agencies so that qualitative services are delivered. He also sought suggestions and feedbacks from officers for the overall effective implementation of various programmes and schemes in the developmental field.
Later, Farooq Lone chaired a meeting with the functionaries of Social Welfare department to review its functioning besides taking stock of the implementation of various welfare schemes and programmes.
Meanwhile, he complemented the concerned for their satisfactory work and stressed for the inclusion of more destitute and poorer within the ambit of these welfare programmes. He said that the government has launched several welfare programmes for uplifting the downtrodden section of the society. Moreover, he exhorted upon awareness dissemination among masses and directs the concerned to include the beneficiaries as per the provisions of legal regulations. He also directs to conduct awareness camps at various levels so that the base of these welfare schemes gets widened.
