Nepal PM says BIMSTEC summit will be beneficial in facing challenges of global warming and achieving sustainable development goals

The Prime Minister of Nepal K.P. Sharma Oli has said the 4th BIMSTEC Summit, beginning in Kathmandu tomorrow will be very beneficial in facing challenges posed by global warming, achieve sustainable development goals and expanding connectivity to ease movement among the people of member states and enhance cooperation. 

Briefing the Lower House of the Parliament about the  Summit, Mr Oli said that economic prosperity of the people of BIMSTEC region, expansion of road network and construction of Buddhist Circuit will be mainly focused during the summit. The Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi will be attending the two-day Summit.

The Sixteenth Ministerial Meeting of Bay of Bengal Initiativefor Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) is being heldin Kathmandu today. The meeting will discuss the agenda for the BIMSTEC Summit.
