The National Investigation Agency has arrested Deputy Jail Superintendent Feroz Ahmad Lone at Amphalla prison in Jammu, for allegedly conniving with a man lodged there to send youths to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir for arms training to wage war against India.
In a statement in New Delhi, the NIA said that Lone has been arrested along with the main accused Ishaq Palla. While Palla, has been remanded to 10 days’ NIA custody in Jammu, Feroz Ahmad Lone will be produced before the court today to seek his custody.
The case pertains to an attempt by Suhail Ahmad Bhat and Danish Ghulam Lone, who was arrested earlier, to travel to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir for arms training to wage war against the state. They were motivated by the Ishaq Palla.
Both were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara district near the Line of Control while trying to cross over to PoK on October 2017. The main accused Ishaq Palla was lodged in Srinagar jail in a different case and he was instrumental in hatching the conspiracy from Jail. He was actively assisted by deputy superintendent Feroz Ahmad Lone.
