DDC inspects renovation work on Rajouri-Jammu highway
‘Admin to conduct safety Audit of major roads soon’
RAJOURI, AUGUST 30: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today inspected ongoing Black topping work on by Dhanwan to Kaller stretch of Rajouri-Jammu Highway.
Chief Planning officer, Abdul Hamid, along with the Engineers from GREF accompanied the DDC during the visit.
Engineers of GREF apprised that during the rainy season, the patches of the Highway were damaged causing inconvenience to the general public and even caused accidents.
They further informed that 15 km stretch is being Macadamized which shall be completed within a week time.
The DDC asked the executing Agency, to adhere to specifications and quality to enable the road to bear the heavy volume of traffic.
The DDC also reiterated that Road Safety is the prime concern of administration and it has constituted teams for Road safety audit of major roads. He asked the executing agencies to complete all the projects taken up in the District in time bound manner to provide dependable connectivity to the people.
