PM Modi appeals member countries of BIMSTEC for enhancing cooperation in trade, economy, digital connectivity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the member countries of the BIMSTEC to work together on enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, economy, digital connectivity and also people to people contact.

Addressing the inaugural session of 4th BIMSTEC Summit in Kathmandu, Mr Modi said, India is already committed to enhancing its national Knowledge Network in the field of Digital connectivity in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.

He said, India will set up a Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies at Nalanda University for research on art, culture, maritime laws and other subjects in the Bay of Bengal. Mr Modi said, peace and growth are the priorities of all the developing nations.
