Director General Indian Council of Agriculture and Research ,ICAR Trilochan Mohapatra has said that the work force in agricultural community will reduce by 35 per cent by 2030 due to better avenues in other sectors.
He insisted that it is high time that some innovative approach is brought in to motivate and attract youth to agriculture sector. He was inaugurating a meeting of experts from the fields of agriculture and its science in New Delhi today. Mr.Mohapatra said policies should be formulated to retain youth in the agriculture sector.
The regional conference on motivating and attracting youth to the farm sector is being organised by Indian Council of Agriculture and Research.
