KU holds program on accreditation framework

Kashmir, Aug 31: Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA), Kashmir University (KU), in collaboration with Central University of Kashmir (CU-K) organised one day awareness workshop for principals of affiliated colleges of the Valley on Thursday.

Sponsored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) the workshop was organised to create awareness among college principals about revised accreditation framework for submitting information online.

Vice chancellor KU Prof Talat Ahmad underlined importance of quality assurance for universities and colleges with special reference to process of accreditation.

“Once our institutions get accredited we forget everything for another five years and become complacent. We need to tread the path of professionalism, punctuality and dedication to get our universities and colleges back on track of progress in academic and research,” said Prof Talat.

Vice chancellor CU-K Prof Mehraj-ud-din Mir said basic purpose of workshop was to make stakeholders aware about process involved in making presentation before visiting NAAC team and to get familiar with new benchmarks, criteria and format devised by NAAC.

Advisor NAAC Dr Latha Pillai, director colleges Prof Zahoor Ahmad Chatt, registrar KU Prof Neelofar Khan also spoke on the occasion. The proceedings of workshop were conducted by deputy director DIQA Showket Shafi.
