Eight injured in blast, Blaze at German refinery: Police

A fire at a refinery in southern Germany following an explosion, injured at least eight people and forced the authorities to evacuate nearly 2,000 local residents.
The explosion took place at around 5:30 am in a site run by the Bayernoil group near the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt.
The police said that three of the victims suffered medium or serious injuries. The work to extinguish the flames is continuing with around 200 firefighters at the scene.
