Pulwama, Sep 4: Classes in Government Degree College (GDC) for boys and girls and Higher Secondary School (HSS) were suspended on Tuesday as a precautionary measure in this south Kashmir district, where a youth was killed after security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators during Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on Monday.
The district authorities announced suspension of class work in HSSs in Pulwama, Rajpora and Kakpora tehsils.
Similarly class work in GDC Pulwama for boys and girl has also been suspended as a precautionary measure as there was apprehension of demonstrations.
However, all educational institutions were working normally elsewhere in the south Kashmir.
Fayaz Ahmad Wani was killed when security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators trying to disrupt CASO launched by the security forces at Gusoo in this district.
