Srinagar, Sep 5: Life returned to normal on Wednesday after remaining crippled due to general strike on Tuesday in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where a youth was killed when security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators trying to disrupt Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on September 3.
Mobile internet also resumed after remaining suspended since the encounter ensued on September 3. Train service which was suspended on Tuesday was also resumed in south Kashmir. Classes also resumed in educational institutions.
Shops and business establishments reopened on Wednesday morning and traffic was plying on all roads in the district. Work in government offices and banks was also normal. However, additional security forces remained deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
Large number of security forces and state police personnel had been deployed at sensitive places in the district to prevent any law and order problem.
