SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 13: MLA Dooru Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today called on Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai here at JK Governor’s Grievance Cell at Church Lane to apprise him with various issues and demands faced by the people in his constituency.
Seeking the completion of work started on various road projects in the constituency, the MLA informed the Advisor that despite having funds available, the work on Larkipora-Lisar-Boosu road is yet to be completed.
The MLA further revealed that Veerinag-Kapran road is yet to be completed. Giving figures, the MLA said despite having sufficient funds to complete the entire work, the concerned department so far has only completed work on 10 kms, leaving five kms unattended.
MLA Andrabi further said that the work on four road projects taken under PMGSY have not be started. He said although the tenders were floated earlier, but for some unknown reasons, the Superintendent Engineer Anantnag is not opening the tenders so that work on these projects could have been started.
Escalating the water crisis faced by villagers of Manzu, ChekiWangun, Bakerwal Check, Chakarpal, Zamal, the MLA said the construction of four-lane tunnel has caused water scarcity in these villages. The MLA demanded that to address the issue the Government should start work on a new water scheme on water footing so that the locals are not deprived of basic necessity of water.
The Advisor after giving a patient hearing to all issues raised by the MLA assured him that all the possible steps would be taken at an earliest to address the genuine demands raised during the meeting.
