Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that India is a land of Vasudev Kutumbakam and that Dawoodi Bohra Community is true representative of this philosophy.
Addressing Ashara-e- Mubarakan, the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, organized by the Dawoodi Bohra community at Indore in Madhya Pradesh today, Mr Modi said, Indian society and its heritage makes the country different from others.
He said, Indians are proud of their past, they have faith in their present and they are confident of their bright future. The Prime Minister said, Imam Hussein was martyred for peace and justice and he raised voice against injustice.
Referring to the welfare schemes of government of India like Ayushman Bharat and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Prime Minister informed that Ayushman Bharat Yojana has come as a Saviour for 50 crore poor people of country.
Prime Minister also met the religious head of Dawoodi Bohra community, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. Syedna felicitated PM Modi after his speech.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also spoke on the occasion.
