Prime Minister Narendra Modi launch projects worth over 500 crore rupees

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that his government is trying hard for the overall development of Varanasi to make it the gateway to Eastern India. He said that the Central Government is going to develop BHU  as the medical hub of eastern India.

On the second day of his Varanasi visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various development projects worth rupees 557 crore rupees today.

Addressing the gathering at the amphitheatre of Banaras Hindu University, Mr Modi said that new roads are being constructed along with ring road for the city. Mr Modi said that Varanasi has become beautiful and easily accessible.

The Prime Minister said that all eyes will be on Kashi next year when Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas will be organised. He appealed to the people to show the cultural heritage to the NRI brethren. On the occasion, PM congratulated UP government for its association with AYUSHMAN BHARAT.

The Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) for Old Kashi which was inaugurated today by PM Modi has brought phenomenal change in the city benefitting more than 60 thousand residents. Under the scheme overhead cables were changed into underground power cables in old Kasi reducing power theft and voltage fluctuations.

The area got rid of thick mesh of wires stretching across vast lengths overhead, which was a common sight earlier. The Prime Minister today inaugurated Atal Incubation Centre at BHU is the first incubation centre of its kind in the State which was established with the help of Bombay Stock Exchange and it will support Startups and Standups.

PM also distributed 500 bee boxes under Honey mission and various electric based machines to the porters and artisans.  PM also laid the foundation stone for Regional Ophthalmology Centre and Vaidik Vigyan Kendra at Benares Hindu University.
