India and Romania have expressed the desire to further strengthen their relations and partnership across the political, economic, science & technology, culture and people-to-people domains.
On the second day of his visit to Romania, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu held one to one and delegation level talks with the President of the Senate of Romania, Mr. Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and witnessed the signing of MoUs this morning in Bucharest.
He also held delegation-level talks with President of The Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Nicolae-Livi Dragnea. Later, the vice president held one to one and delegation level talks with the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Werner Lohannis.
After the meeting, both the leaders issued a joint press statement. Both the leaders agreed to intensify cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral fora in order to address global challenges.
In his statement, Mr. Naidu appreciated Romania for its support to India’s aspiration for permanent membership of United Nations Security Council.
In his Statement, Mr Naidu said that there is a need to fight the scourge of terrorism and manifestations and work together to eliminate the financing of terror and safe havens for terrorists and their sponsors.
