President Ram Nath Kovind has called for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals particularly, providing Clean Water and Sanitation.
Inaugurating a four-day Convention on Mahatma Gandhi International Sanitation in New Delhi, Mr Kovind said absence of suitable toilets, appropriate hygiene and sanitation practices can lead to life-long disadvantages.
He said Swachh Bharat is critical to securing human capital and demographic dividend in providing better future for children. The President said achieving universal access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene by 2030 is a major challenge in many parts of the world.
