Clashes erupt after forces lay siege to Shopian village

Srinagar : Clashes broke out between the forces and youth on Friday after government forces launched a Cordon and search operation in Nadigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Reports said that as soon as a joint team of army’s 34 RR, 23 PARA, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and 14 BN CRPF cordoned off the area youth took to the streets and pelt stones on them, triggering clashes.

Heavy contingents of forces have been deployed in the areas and search operation was going on, sources said.
