Srinagar : The train service was resumed on Sunday on Srinagar Banihal track after two days of suspension for security reasons.
The service was suspended following the killing of militant in Pulwama district of South Kashmir on Saturday.
A fresh advisory was received last night from police to resume train service in the valley today and railway authorities are acting on the advice of state administration, a senior railway official told media.
Therefore, he said, trains will chug of Badgam-Srinagar-Islamabad -Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region.
Train service was resumed yesterday in north Kashmir after remaining suspended on Friday when separatists had called for a general strike against the killing of two scholar militant Manan and his associate in an encounter with government forces in Handwara on Thursday.
