ULB Polls: Train services suspended in Kashmir

Srinagar : Train service was suspended again on Tuesday for security reasons in the Kashmir valley, in view of joint resistance leadership shutdown call in poll-bound areas of Srinagar and Ganderbal in the final phase of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections.

‘We have again suspended all train runs in the Kashmir valley on Tuesday,’ a senior railway official told media.

Therefore, he said, no train will chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region. Similarly, trains will also not run on Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he said.

This is the fifth time, train service has been suspended in the Kashmir valley since October 8 for security reasons.
