In an fierce gun battle in down town area of Fateh Kadal locality a joint team of J&K Police and CRPF have gunned down three militants of Lashkar e Toiaba ( LeT). The encounter started this morning after a joint team of police and CRPF on specific information cordoned off Fateh Kadal area. As soon the security forces zeroed in to the hiding militants they were fired upon by hiding militants which triggered an encounter.
The three militants have been identified as Faiaz and Bangru of LeT and one OWG named Raees Abidullah. One police personnel Kamal from Reasi district of J&K was martyred in this gun battle. He received grievous bullet injuries when militants first fired on searching police party.
Meanwhile all educational institutions have been closed and internet has been also suspended for precautionary measures in Srinagar.
