The wreath laying ceremony was attended by DDC Srinagar Syed Abid Rashid, DG Police Dilbagh Singh, ADGP Law and Order Munir Ahmed Khan, IGP Kashmir SP Pani and others.
The martyred cop was later laid to rest along the banks of river Chenab today in Reasi amidst chanting of vedic hymns and slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ ‘Shaheed Kamal Kishore amar rahe.’
Thousands attended the funeral setting aside the house hold and community festival rituals of Ram Navmi today. Pertinent to mention, the people of Reasi observed the day in memory of son of soil and many households cancelled the celebration attached to the day of Ram Navmi.
Talking to our Epilogue reporter on ground, people expressed great anger and resentment over the martyrdom of Kamal Kishore claiming such incidents have become a routine matter and our security forces are at the receiving end of this bloodshed by militants. Chuni Lal Sharma, a resident of Reasi while talking to our reporter said, “We appeal to Prime Minister Modi to put an end to this repeated and merciless killing of our sons, the stoic silence of the prime minister is a worrying sign for the nation, adding that PM should remember the promises he made to nation before he was elected to the chair.”
Another resident who claims to live in the same locality of Martyred cop, claimed Kamal Kishore was a brave and promising youth and Bhagat Singh was his role model.
Over all there was a general pal of gloom around Reasi town and people were seen condemning the ineptness of repeated governments in resolving Kashmir issue.
