Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal and three other Indian shuttlers have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Denmark Open Badminton at Odense.
In the Men’s Singles, seventh seed Srikanth came back from a game behind to beat China’s Lin Dan, 18-21, 21-17, 21-16, while Sameer Verma defeated Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie, 23-21, 6-21, 22-20. Srikanth and Sameer will be up against each other today for a place in the semi-finals.
In the Women’s Singles, Saina produced a superb performance to stun world number two Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in straight games, 21-15, 21-17. In the quarterfinals, Saina will face another Japanese, Nozomi Okuhara today.
