A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Arwani area of Bijbhera in south Kashmir on Thursday.
“Exchange of fire reported from Arwani Anantnag. Security forces on Job. More details to follow,” Police wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted between protesters and security forces near the gunfight site in Arwani area of Bijbhera town in south Kashmir on Thursday.
Reports said that youth took to streets in Arwani and its adjoining villages shouting pro-freedom slogans pelted rocks at the security forces.
The security forces lobbed tear gas canisters to disperse the stone pelting protesters.
Meanwhile, gunfight continues in Arwani area between militants and forces.
