In Bihar, Kharna is being celebrated today on the second day of the four-day Chhath Puja. On this day, devotees keep fast for the whole day and break their fast after worshiping the Sun God in the evening.
They offer kheer, puris, fruits in the puja. According to reports that the whole atmosphere has become devotional. After taking prasad in the evening, devotees go on a fast without water for the next 36 hours. They invite people at their houses to take prasad.
People have started gathering at various Sun temple to celebrate Chhath Puja celebrations. It includes Sun temple at Deo in Aurangabad, Barkagao in Nalanda and Ular Sun temple in Patna district.
Ghats along various rivers, ponds and water reservoirs are being decorated.
Standing in knee deep water, devotees will pay oblation to the setting Sun tomorrow. Chhath puja will conclude on Wednesday morning after paying oblation to the rising Sun.
