PM Modi to visit Singapore on Nov 14 to attend East Asia Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 13th East Asia Summit and associated meetings in Singapore on Wednesday and Thursday.

This will be Mr Modi’s 5th East Asia Summit and his 2nd visit to Singapore. Mr.Modi will be the first head of the government to deliver an address at the Fintech Festival.

About 30 thousand people are expected to take part in the Fintech Festival.

Mr Modi will also attend the second Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership meeting where the leaders will review the progress made in the negotiations. Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu is participating in the negotiations which are in Singapore.

Briefing media in New Delhi, Secretary (East) in the External Affairs Ministry, Vijay Thakur Singh said,  Mr Modi’s visit to Singapore will give new momentum to India’s relations with eastern neighbours.

Prime Minister Modi will also participate in the 15th India-ASEAN breakfast summit, East Asia lunch retreat and 13th East Asia Summit will be held where the leaders will review the progress made so far in regional and global spheres.

Prime Minister Modi will also hold several bilateral meetings including one with US Vice President Mike Pence.
