UIDAI’s Ajay Bhushan Pandey appointed new revenue secretary

The government has appointed UIDAI CEO and GSTN Chairman Ajay Bhushan Pandey as the next Revenue Secretary.

The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet in a notification yesterday said, Mr Pandey, who is 1984 batch Maharashtra-cadre IAS officer, will take charge as the Revenue Secretary after the superannuation of current Finance and Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia on November 30.

The notification said Pandey will continue to hold charge as Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) CEO and GSTN Chairman until further orders.

Special Secretary in the Department of Revenue Girish Chandra Murmu will be the new Expenditure Secretary.

Mr Murmu, a 1985-batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer will take charge as the Expenditure Secretary after the superannuation of present Secretary Ajay Narayan Jha on January 31 next year.

Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash who was allegedly assaulted by Aam Aadmi Party ministers and leaders during a late night meeting at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in February this year, has been posted as additional secretary in the Department of Telecommunications.

Punjab cadre IAS officer Chhabilendra Roul will be next Fertilizers Secretary and Karnataka cadre officer Yogendra Tripathy will be next Tourism Secretary.

Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration Upma Chawdhry has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs.

West Bengal IAS officer Sumanta Chaudhuri will be the new Coal Secretary.
