Girl injured after hit by stray bullet in south Kashmir

Srinagar : A girl sustained injuries on Thursday morning after she was hit by a stray bullet in Wanigund Khudwani in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, near a Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST) research center in Khudwani Kulgam, after militants and army exchanged gun fire.

The army camp located near the research center was earlier attacked by militants, and army in retaliation had fired towards the militants. In the exchange of fire between the army and militants, a girl identified as Muskaan Jan received a stray bullet in her shoulder.

Muskaan was soon rushed to district hospital for the treatment. Meanwhile, forces have cordoned off the area and searches in the area are going on.
