Srinagar : A complete shutdown is being observed on the second consecutive day in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to mourn the killing of a local militant, on Friday.
Reports said that all the shops and other business establishments are closed in the town while public transport is off the roads. People in hoards from various areas of the town are visiting the residence of slain militant to offer condolences.
Following the gunfight, all the educational institutions across Sopore town have been closed. “Schools and colleges will remain closed today in the subdivision Sopore,” an official said. The move comes in the wake of the killing of local militant.
The two slain militants identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Khan, a local resident of Sopore and top LeT commander Naveed Jatt, from Pakistan were killed during an encounter in Chattergam area of Budgam.
