Elaborate arrangements have been made for Assembly elections in Telangana and Rajasthan which will go to polls on Friday, December 7.
In Telangana, over 1 lakh 60 thousand poll personnel have been deployed to ensure peaceful polling. Over 270 companies of Central Armed Forces, 30 thousand state police personnel and over 18 thousand forces drawn from 6 other states have been deployed.
Over 2 crore 80 lakh electors including 4.57 lakh Divyangs will exercise their franchise at 32 thousand 815 polling stations spread in all the 31 districts.
A total of 1821 candidates including about 135 women are in the fray for 119 assembly constituencies.
In Rajasthan, 51 thousand 687 polling booths including at least one ‘all women booth’ in each constituency, have been set up. Chief electoral officer Anand Kumar said that the only requirement for voting is that the voter’s name should be there in the voter’s list.
The voter could be identified by the voter identity card or any other approved identity card.
