Drug peddler arrested in south Kashmir: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and seized huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession in south Kashmir.

“At a naka check point at Sangam chowk, a police party while carrying out the searches intercepted one suspected person and from his possession recovered huge quantity of codeine phosphate,” said police spokesman in a statement.

“The drug peddler has been identified as Amir Ali Chopan son of Ali Mohammad Chopan resident of Rajpora Pulwama,” he said.

“A case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation has been taken up,” police spokesman in a statement said.
